Hosea Stout Journals

February 3, 1848

Summary: Stout conducts business with police; "The Defenders of Nauvoo" have a celebration party.

Journal entry: Thurs Feb. 3rd 1848. Around as usual. The police committee have all returned having near one hundred dollars in goods, clothing and money. I was engaged with them till late at night. Those who were in the battle of Nauvoo in the fall of 1846, had a party today styled "The Defenders of Nauvoo" at C. C. Bolton's house. They had a high time some being very high. Cold N. wind in evening.
