of Florence, Nebraska, Winter Quarters was settled in September,
1846 as a temporary resting place for the pioneers. It is located
just west of the Missouri river in Nebraska.
Summary: Weather is better; preparations
for burial are made.
Journal entry: Monday Jan 31st 1848.
Mild clear weather. S. W. Wind. Preparing for Elizabeth's burial.
Blazzards reports still more unfavorable against Covey which I
reported to Priest Young.
