Council today: Traples vs Wixom for stealing his daughter.

The coldest day of the year so far; Hoseas' sister-in-law dies.

Weather is better; preparations for burial are made.

Engaged in police matters.

Stout conducts business with police; "The Defenders of Nauvoo" have a celebration party.
February 5, 1848 --
Council settles dispute over whiskey ownership. Whiskey laws are sustained.
February 6, 1848 --
Stout is presented with charge for abusive conduct in regards to speech given to council.
February 7, 1848 --
Stout made some preparations to meet Pack's charge which he could easily & safely meet.
February 8, 1848 --
A busy day doing business with Police and the officers of the first Division.
February 9, 1848 --
Pack' court case continues to cause a stir.
February 10, 1848 --
John Pack decides to drop the suit against Stout.
February 11, 1848 --
The Omahas were sent home.
February 12, 1848 --
John Pack presented Council with a petition that dealt with pay for his whiskey.
February 13, 1848 --
Stout receives lesson in what constitutes "good manners".
February 14, 1848 --
Money is collected for the different branches of the police. A portion of money is payed to Stout for dues which enabled him to buy a wagon to come West.
February 15, 1848 --
Stout attends meeting of the 70's.
February 16, 1848 --
Stout aquires another cow.
February 17, 1848 --
Stout receives paper from the City of Washington. Still not feeling well.
February 18, 1848 --
Hosea still not feeling well.
February 19, 1848 --
Stout goes to council to rule on an unlawful dance.
February 20, 1848 --
Police wanted the brethren's help in working on the road over the river.
February 21, 1848 --
All agreed to help Police with the road work.
February 22, 1848 --
Delivered more corn to Police today.
February 23, 1848 --

A gun cleaning party was organized to help the police.
February 25, 1848 --
There was enough guns cleaned today for two parties.
February 26, 1848 --
Brethren Jones' trial was held to resolve his unlawful living with Rosanna Cox.
February 27, 1848 --
A police meeting was held in the council house.
February 28, 1848 --
Brethren Phippin hired to move wagon.
February 29, 1848 --
A cold north wind for leap year day.
