June 10, 1847

Summary: Trees, fish, and coal.

Journal entry: Thursday. Traveled 17 3/4 miles and encamped at Deer Creek. Two antelope killed.

There is some cottonwood, ash, and box elder timber here, also some choke cherry and willow bushes.

Some fish caught.

George A. Smith brought into camp a sample of bright black coal.
