Summary: Caught a mess of fish.
Journal entry: Tuesday. Traveled twenty
miles. Evening, Thomas Tanner set up his forge and set several wagon
tires. Cottonwood trees cut down for the horses to browse on, which
they eat readily. About 213 fish caught. Major Miller having called
upon the Mormons to haul corn for the Omaha Indians, the Council
went to bros. Daniel Spencer and Daniel Russell to use their influence
to have the corn hauled for the Indians from Waldo's ferry on the
Nishnebatona river to Bellevue, Council Bluffs. Jesse C. Little
was appointed aid to Col. Markham.
