Journal entry: This is truly a glorious
time with the mothers & daughters in Zion altho' thrust out from
the land of our forefathers & from the endearments of civiliz'd
life.
This forenoon I made a cap for sis. Pierce--in the afternoon visited
at sis. Miller's in com. of Priscinda Zina, sis. Chase, Cristene
&c. after supper sis. Whitney, Kimball, Sessions came in and we
had a spiritual feast in very deed.
Spent the eve. at br. Leonard's with Priscinda, Zina & Sarah--Great
instruction was brought forth--br. L. spoke of the American government--its
fall &c. after which the Lord manifested the contrast of the happiness
of the saints and the suff'ring of the gentiles when the Lamanites
go forth. Language cannot describe the scene.
