We get up at 4:30 A.M. Breakfast is at 5. Start to travel at 7. Take a break at 10:30. Lunch is at noon. Arrive at the next camping stop at 3 P.M, then set up camp. Dinner is at 5:30 P.M. We have a meeting at 8:30 P.M. Go to bed at 9 P.M. This is our daily schedule.

It is hard for us to take down the tent in the rain: besides, I get muddy. Therefore I start feeling very depressed. It is hard for me to have to get up at 4:30 A.M., too, because I am a nighthawk. Sometimes it rains heavily and sometimes lightly. It makes no difference because it always rains anyway.

We started at 7 A.M. and took a break at 10:30 A.M. today. Needless to say, we rested in the rain. We started walking again, but it made us tired walking with the wagons. The horses don't obey sometimes. We must pay attention to them. If we get too close to them, we will get hurt. We had a lunch break at noon. It was in the rain again. It was raining heavily when we got to Elkhorn. We decided to wait to pitch the tent until the rain turned to a light rain. In this case speed was important, so I pitched the tent with all members of my family and carried our stuff into the tent without stopping to rest. It was actually not a bad experience getting into a damp sleeping bag in the wet tent.
