95:56:45W Currently the site of Florence, Nebraska, Winter Quarters
was settled in September, 1846 as a temporary resting place for
the pioneers. It is located just west of the Missouri river in Nebraska.
Summary: Went to the Jubilee, then on guard, and then finally
to an interview.
Journal entry: Wednesday Jan 19th 1848. Went to the Jubilee
again by the upper ferry. We arrived there at Eleven o'clock a.m.
and staid till in the evening. We came home about two hours after
dark and then went out on guard with K Gardner & Carns till eleven
o'clock P. M.
Saw and had an interview with Prest Harris about the seditious
feeling of some in this place. He thinks it ought to be put down.
