Location: Farson, Wyoming -
Summary: Rest Day in Farson -- Ice cream,
song practice, and laundry
Journal entry: Farson has been waiting
for the Wagon Train to arrive. There is a large "swap meet" area
where over 30 vendors have set up shop selling everything from burgers
to sno cones to Mormon trail T-shirts.
One of the biggest attractions here is the Farson Mercantile, an
old building that now houses a convenience store and an ice cream
store. The ice cream is what is amazing. If you order a small, they
put three scoops on a cone. The scoops are bigger than my fist.
A large is only for people who can eat ice cream faster than it
melts.
Our day was filled with choir practice for the primary kids and
a trip to Rock Srings. Amy, Kathy, Sarah and I tried to get in to
see Bre. As soon as we got in to Intensive Care, the nurses promptly
shooed us out. We have heard that Bre is feeling better, and that
she even walked around a bit.
In the evening, we had choir practice for the adults. We will be
singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Utah symphony when
we get to Henefer. It is amazing how uplifting and unifying it is
to sing together. If our leaders want unity, they ought to schedule
choir practice every evening. All the cares of the day are left
behind as we work together to try and make good music.
