95:56:45W Currently the site of Florence, Nebraska, Winter Quarters
was settled in September, 1846 as a temporary resting place for
the pioneers. It is located just west of the Missouri river in Nebraska.
Summary: Council met all day. Disagreements arise.
Journal entry: Sat. Jan 22nd 1848. Went to Council again
which was mostly spent in reading & correcting the minutes of yesterday's
council. The Twelve & A. W. Babbit then came in. Council continued
all day. Babbitt made a long report about the Committee Ship, It
was not very satisfactory. Brigham repramanded him once quite sharpley
& he flew off in a tangent and tried to resign his office & Trustee
&C.
Drew another order on a store for taxes amounting to 15-00. Then
went to the office to see about sending the police Committee off
tomorrow.
