Currently the site of Florence, Nebraska, Winter Quarters was settled
in September, 1846 as a temporary resting place for the pioneers.
It is located just west of the Missouri river in Nebraska.
Summary: Police still cleaning the public arms; corn is exchanged.
Journal entry: Wed. Jan 26th 1848. Police are occupied at
cleaning the guns.
Commenced to exchange corn with those who are going over the river
to live for their corn here which saves transportation both ways.
We collected most of our corn in this way.
We had Langley tried tonight at Woolly store for not holding the
truth sacred as we called it & fined Woolly one gallon all in fun.
