Hosea Stout Journals

January 28, 1848

Location: Winter Quarters - 1014 miles left, Nebraska - Location: 41:21:41N 95:56:45W Currently the site of Florence, Nebraska, Winter Quarters was settled in September, 1846 as a temporary resting place for the pioneers. It is located just west of the Missouri river in Nebraska.

Summary: J.H. Blazzard resolves hard feelings with Hosea and Bishop Carns. He also has new information.

Journal entry: Friday Jan 28th 1848. Today J. H. Blazzard came to Bp Carns & myself & said that he did not wish to have any more hard feelings towards us refering to the 180 and 186th page. Also stated that had learned something better and then give his hand in friendship telling us at the same time that Br B. Covey was practicing a wicked and abominable thing of which we shall speak hereafter more fully and wanted us to look to it [page numbers are Hosea's references to original diary] I went and reported the same to Priest Young who wanted the matter looked into.

I was up till eleven o'clock at night.
