Summary: Wednesday, May 14, 1997 (Clear Day)

Journal entry: [Translated by Tomoko Nakayama]

Perhaps today was the most relaxed day since we left Winter quarters. We didn't move from Gothenburg because today was a special "rest day". Everyday we pitch the tent and take down the tent, so we are very grateful for the days we rest in one place.

We did laundry and walked around and relaxed. It was very clear day, but it was still cold in the shade. It was also great that we could eat salad. Because this way of life tends to bring a shortage of vegetables, I took a plateful of salad and ate like a horse. Everybody spent the day laying on the grass and playing by the waterside. Today was a great day.

We start moving again tomorrow. I'd better go to bed soon.
