Journal entry: Tuesday. The Pioneer company traveled twelve miles and encamped on the north side of the river from Fort Laramie.

Bros. Robert Crow and George W. Thirlkell of the Mississippi company who arrived at this point from Pueblo sixteen days ago visited us. They reported four deaths in the battalion, viz., Melcher Oyler, Scott, Arnold Stevens, and ------.
