Daniel George (Dan) Whitaker Journals

July 4, 1997

Location: Simpson's Hollow, Wyoming

Summary: Simpson's Hollow?

Journal entry: Dear people of the world
It was dusty dusty dusty here It is the fourth of July and we are not even having a celebration.

I walked with the handcarters today It was only ten miles and we are in Simpson Hollow which is just a little field by the side of the road with a marker.

It was kind of cold this moring but it warmed up quick. Yes the wind is still here.

I am going to go to Rock Springs with Zacs grandpa and maybe go swimming.

The prophet of our church is coming tomarrow and they are expecting 20,000 people or more. Wow.

Some more of my cousins are going to come and see the wagon train. I hope I get to see some fireworks tonight or something

For sure I will on the 24th of July in Salt Lake City.

Well this is Dan in a dusty field by a highway by Simpson Hollow Wyoming.
