Daniel George (Dan) Whitaker Journals

July 11, 1997

Location: Piedmont, Wyoming - Between Fort Bridger and Bear River Crossing.

Summary: Thrown in creek.

Journal entry: Dear people of the world
Today I walked 22 miles. Well actually after I got thrown in the creek it was probably 19.

We passed a ghosttown called Piedmont. We also saw some coke kilns which look like great big rock cones.

It was a fun day and a long day. A lady fell out of her wagon and they had to take her to the hospital.

I got sick yesterday I hope it isn't from yucky swimming water.

Camp tonight is huge It just keeps getting bigger and bigger but is is kinda pretty you know I think I like sage brush and dirt.

It is fun to almost be home its kinda like christmas.

Well this is Dan in Piedmont Wyoming
