Summary: Guarding against livestock theft.
Journal entry: Wednesday. The Pioneer Company traveled eighteen miles and camped on Looking Glass Creek where it runs into the Loup Fork.
We encountered many Pawnee Indians. Elder Kimball and I stood guard the forepart of the night. Mules were stationed with the picket guard to help them notice the approach of Indians.
