Summary: Sioux Indians.

Journal entry: Wednesday. Fort John or Laramie is occupied by Mr. James Bordeaux and about 18 French, half breeds, and a few Sioux Indians. Mr Bordeaux trades solely with the Sioux who will not steal on their own lands.

The crows, lately, stole twenty-five horses, not withstanding they were guarded and within 300 yards of the Fort.

There had been no rain at the Fort for the last two years until within a few days.
