Summary: Wednesday.

Journal entry: We go 2 abreast. Capt Smoot's Com. stop for the night by a small stream a mile or so in our rear; we a 1/2 m. in Taylor's rear & Parley 5 ms. in advance of us. Our place is very delightful--a short grass which is a sweet treat for the herd overspreads an extensive plain--the river forming almost a half circle, while rich clusters of trees are to be seen in every direction.
