A Poetic Tribute to the Sod House SettlersMay 13, 1997

Name: A Poetic Tribute to the Sod House Settlers

Location: Gothenburg, Nebraska

Description:
This poem commemorates the poverty, thrift and industry of pioneers. Trees were scarce on the Great Plains portion of the Mormon Trail but sod was plentiful. So it was often used as building block for many homes and early pioneer structures.
