Crosses Along the TrailMay 6, 1997

Name: Crosses Along the Trail

Location: Wood River, Nebraska

The people of Shelton placed wooden crosses every 15 feet or so along the trail. All together there were 600 crosses, each with ten pieces of cloth tied to them. The 6,000 pieces of cloth were in memory of the 6,000 pioneers who died on the Mormon Trail
