Pioneer: Amelia Earhart (Joanne - 4th Grade)

Meet Amelia Earhart who was born on July 24, 1898. She started her journey around the world in March, 1937 with Fred Noonan as her navigator. She started the journey from Oakland, California. She flew across the equator 4 times on her flight. Amelia was brave to try this flight with a lot of people saying she could not do it. She did not complete her mission. Now a woman named Linda Finch will try to complete it. I think Amelia Earhart was very courageous to do what she did. She is a pioneer.
